I can't believe that Steve Irwin's, aka The Crocodile Hunter, is dead. And I also can't believe that I heard about second hand from someone in the UK. I've just flicked on the tele and as you'd expect, the Chanel 9 news and A Current Affair (the Aussie tele news of the Sun and News of the World, without the page 3 boobs) have just dedicated 30 mins to the Crocodile Hunter (cause obviously nothing else has happened in the world) and there are millions of superlatives about the Steve being "larger of life, a passionate bloke - the Real Deal, and a true blue Aussie Icon".
Despite the irony of how it happend, it really is sad that he's gone. I guess I'd never really thought he'd die. It's just a bit of a pity that the Aussie news has turned this story into a 30 minute episode of sloppy mush.

- What that "Trying to Panda" means: "Panda" has become a synonym for pander, which is what I have to remember to try and do, rather than just tell people to shut up. Where: London Why: Doing my Aussie tour of duty back in 2001, meant that I left Sydney to live in London for a year. One year has now turned in to almost 5 1/2, residency and hopefully the percurement of British nationality, so that I can now go travelling around Europe without the need of those pesky visas (even if they do look oh so pretty in my passport). I like: marmite, chillies (fresh, dried, or in a jar with vinegar), french (the language), nutella on white bread (with no butter), East Enders, trying to burn past other cyclists when I ride home from work. I don't like: vegemite, losing, and having cyclists burn past me when I ride home from work. I always feel paranoid about something.
